PCFixKit is intended to optimize your system. Besides searching and fixing different types of issues in the Registry, it can also help you configure other parameters to increase your computer’s performance. Moreover, it has an impact on your privacy, as it can delete traces of your activity. This tool has a nice and straightforward interface, which has a combination of tabs and wizards. In addition, to make it even easier for you, the functions of each one of its features is clearly explained on the corresponding tab. Finally, there’s a one-click optimization button that runs various tests without much user intervention.

As explained above, the features are grouped into tabs. The first of these is Cleanup, from which the single most important feature, Registry Cleaner, is accessible. Registry corruption and redundancy makes your system increasingly slower, so getting rid of such problems is likely to restore your computer’s performance. Unfortunately, although the program successfully detected a list of errors, the trial version wouldn’t allow me to apply any changes. Another feature lets you erase junk files, which are mainly temporary files left behind by other applications. Finally, you can also erase all evidences of your local and Internet activity.

The second tab is labeled “Optimize” and it also includes various features. Among these, Network Optimization is intended to make the changes that are required for your computer to access network services without delay. Disk Cache, in turn, can set the optimum cache size according to the size of your disks and computer usage. Moreover, the program can make the necessary changes to adapt desktop behavior to your preferences: maximum performance or best appearance. The last of the features available here is Startup Program Manager, which, as its name suggests, can let you decide which programs start automatically with the system. Managing them has a significant impact on the time your computers takes to boot.

Making any changes to Windows Registry can always be dangerous. So, it’s a blessing that the program also has a tab specifically intended to make backup copies of your registry and restore them in case something goes wrong.

All in all, PCFixKit is a versatile system optimizer if we judge it from its multiple features. However, it’s a pity that the trial version doesn’t give us the slightest opportunity to test the program’s real impact on performance. Let’s hope that its developers take account of this. In the meantime, I will stick to my same old system optimizer.
